Recent Seminars - Conferences
C&G Partners, Greg Junek, Mike Senkbeil, and Rick Sovitzky attended the Alliott Group North America Leadership Forum with topics focusing IT, social media and management best practices. Rick Sovitzky was nominated to serve as Deputy Chairman of Alliott Group North America which is also a position on the worldwide board.
C&G was one of the premier sponsors at the State Bar of Wisconsin Spring 2011 Legal Expo at the Frontier Airlines Center in Milwaukee. This expo, held the first week of May, was focused on litigation, dispute resolution, and appellate topics which was attended by over 300 lawyers from throughout the State. The Firm focus on litigation and expert witness capabilities was explained and discussed with numerous attendees and other sponsors.
Chortek & Gottschalk once again participated in the WI Solo and Small Firm Conference. Co-hosted by the Milwaukee Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin, the 5th annual Wisconsin Solo and Small Firm Conference was packed with sessions on managing the law firm better. Regional and national speakers were on hand to provide useful tips about the latest technology, and valuable ways to manage a practice, avoid malpractice, build client relationships, and deal with real-world issues that affect business every day.
Chortek & Gottschalk (C&G) conducted a breakfast seminar in their Waukesha Corporate Media Center to help businesses better understand the recent legislation more commonly known as the Federal Jobs Bill, recently signed into law. Andy Konicke of Paychex was the invited speaker focusing on the key elements of the legislation. The objectives included:
- Understand and review the cornerstone of the HIRE Act and how it provides incentives to hire and retain employees
- Review and define the Social Security Tax Forgiveness and Business Credit for Retention
- Identify HIRE Act reporting requirements
- Discuss how the new provisions provide an opportunity for tax incentives
Chortek & Gottschalk's (C&G) Tom McRae, Director of Business Development, presented "Poised for Prosperity, Best Practices For Improving & Sustaining Business" at the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association (MRCA) Regional Conference Road Show. Tom also participated in the panel discussion with Q&A along with Jeff Beiniger-moderator, Executive Director, Wisconsin Roofing Contractors Association, and Brian Krimplebein, Vice President, HNI Risk Services.
